Since 2019, Lotterywest has provided $367,665 in grant support toward activities such as the preservation of the most diverse and numerous dinosaur tracks in Australia and the world.

The Dinosaur Coast Management Group is an organisation working to protect and raise awareness of the cultural and scientific importance of the dinosaur tracks of the Dampier Peninsula in the North West.

Since 2019, Lotterywest has provided $367,665 in grant support toward activities such as the preservation of the most diverse and numerous dinosaur tracks in Australia and the world.

These tracks are our only detailed look at Australia’s dinosaur fauna during the first part of the Lower Cretaceous Epoch (that’s a whopping 130 million years ago).

It’s the only place in Australia that has sauropod tracks and confirmed stegosaur and ankylosaur tracks.

A recent Lotterywest grant will support the group to develop materials to promote the aptly named Dinosaur Coast, and preserve the tracks for generations to come.

What an amazing state you live in!
