It’s a flying hospital bed; they’ve got everything in there that you need to cover you in the most dire situation.

Sean Pollard lost both hands and his left arm after a shark attack in Esperance in 2014. RFDS flew him to hospital for vital treatment.

“It’s a flying hospital bed; they’ve got everything in there that you need to cover you in the most dire situation.

“Honestly, we couldn’t live in these places if it wasn’t for that kind of service,” he said.

By playing Lotterywest games, you’ve helped provide a $6.5 million grant to RFDS for two new PC-24 jet aircraft, aero medical and engineering equipment, and training costs.

Thanks to the quick response from RFDS, Sean is now making a name for himself around the world.

“I’ve managed to bounce back and I’m now in the Australian Paralympics Snowboard Team.

“Having the support of the community of Western Australia, Lotterywest and the RFDS, it’s been amazing and it’s kind of made my journey a lot easier and I wouldn’t be able to do it without them.”

Thanks to you playing Lotterywest games, you’ve helped support RFDS with 29 other grants totalling over $19 million, bringing their life-saving dreams to life.
