As the country’s oldest conservation organisation, Birdlife Australia, and Birdlife WA, highlight the importance of looking after our natural environment, allowing birds around the state to flourish.

By playing Lotterywest games, you’ve supported Birdlife WA with $576,529 to support community engagement and participation in creating landscapes to conserve and enhance bird life in metro Perth.

Dr Tegan Douglas says her project wouldn’t be possible without support from Lotterywest players.

“It’s wonderful to know that every day people, who might not know a magpie from a swan, are contributing to keeping our natural world alive and healthy…and very noisy as well!”

Her research shows people who are surrounded by green space are much healthier physically and emotionally, showing the value WA’s bush life has to birds and our community.
